I am really excited to write this article. Mostly because Tik Tok is a unique phenomenon. Less than a year ago, Instagram was still in power. Now? Tik Tok has completely taken over, leaving Instagram far behind. Tik Tok is the place to be at the moment.
Its most interesting advantage is the algorithm that lets people become a sensation overnight. It doesn’t matter if you just posted your video and have 0 followers. If your content is good, you could wake up the next day with one million followers.
There have been some issues and scandals lately about Tik Tok and whether is trustworthy or not. But the truth is, Tik Tok is here to stay. It will grow more and more in the next couple of years, and I expect some big changes to the platform that will let its users monetize their content even more. A step that will most probably dethrone Instagram for good.
But what about today? Can you monetize your Tik Tok? The short answer is yes. My main favorites are using affiliate links and promoting your services and expertise through videos.
How to make money with Tik Tok and affiliate links
You have two options here. You can create the content yourself or you can pay someone to do it. It would be way easier to do it yourself though because this way you’ll save more money and you’ll also have full control over it.

Be unique. Is it something you’ve never seen before? Is it a new product with an interesting approach?
It has to solve a problem. The best selling products are the ones that solve a problem. You might find this a bit confusing but we’ll get more into it in the next paragraphs.
For the sake of this article, we’ll take an (imaginary) revolutionary tool that can ease back pain. Let’s say you can’t find it in stores and you also haven’t seen something like it before. Your video should be all about how life looks with and without this product.
Use emotional triggers to sell it. Paint the picture of what they are missing by having back problems – that is the problem this product will solve. By using it, they will be able to spend more time with their loved ones – this is what they’ll get by using said product.
You should always talk about the problem the product is solving, and if you can, you should also add some personal stories to it. For example, I remember seeing a video made by a mom for a tool for cutting apples.
She was talking about how she loves this tool because she can easily and fastly cut apples for her kids and that they love it. That is the personal story. She filmed herself using the product and created a Tik Tok video less than 60 seconds long. The video gathered a lot of views and most probably made her a lot of money.
Once you found a few good products, start creating your content. As I said, you can do it yourself or you can pay someone to do it for you. If you want to go with the second option, then I suggest you search for these services on Fiverr or Upwork.
The last thing you need to do is join LinkTree, which you can do HERE. By default, Tik Tok offers a single link option. But with LinkTree, you can just add theirs which will take anyone who clicks to a list of links. This way you can add your affiliate products for people to click on and buy.
If you don’t know what affiliate marketing is, it is defined as promoting other’s people products and services through a unique link and receive a commission every time someone buys through it.
It is the easiest way to make money online for beginners and it doesn’t need too much experience.
How to make money with Tik Tok by promoting your own content and services
Until now, we talked about promoting someone else’s services. But I’ve seen a big growth on the platform when it comes to experts. From digital marketers to psychologists and doctors, there’s a place for everyone.
If you already have a business or you plan on starting one, then you must join Tik Tok and promote it. It won’t be hard to create content, since you most probably know your subject already.
It will be way more successful if you show your face and offer your advice on different matters than to let somebody else do it. The only time that is acceptable is when you post your client’s testimonials.
Other than that, stick to showing up talking about your field of expertise. There is a third option, which is to create animations but that is a little bit more complicated so we’ll talk about it another time.
You should focus on offering advice and giving little golden bits and pieces that show you know what you are talking about. You should also show your results. The fastest way to get someone on board is to show them what you achieved already.

There are a few secrets when it comes to Tik Tok but here are the most important steps you have to take if you want success.
Have high-quality content. You should film with a good phone camera and edit your video the right way. You don’t have to create professional videos, it would beat the point of Tik Tok. But you should make sure to have good content. Make it interesting, make people stop to your video instead of scrolling to the next one. We usually have about one second before someone decides to move on, so make the first few seconds as interesting as possible. Tik Tok doesn’t like it when people only watch less than half of your video. It will consider it less valuable and therefore it will show it to fewer people. That’s why it’s so important to keep the viewer’s attention. The algorithm will “punish” your video if people decide to skip it after a few seconds.
Post at a certain hour. You should post between the hours of 11 AM and 13 Pm, and 18 PM and 20 PM. These should be the hours in your timezone though. Tik Tok will first show your new videos to the people close to you geographically, and then promote them to a bigger and wider audience if it receives good feedback. We understand good feedback as likes, follows, and comments. Tik Tok also promotes more a video that is shared outside the platform. So if people copy your video’s link, then you’ll get a boost in views.
